Earlier this month @authorpatjohns recommended Hunted on the Trail by @dana_mentink and it was as good as Patricia said.

This was the best treadmill audiobook. The entire book takes place on a wooded trail as Steph and Vance are trying to outrun killers. Both Steph and Vance have two search and rescue dogs and Pudge is the cutest character. How can you not love a dog named Pudge?

This is part of Mentink’s Security Hounds Investigations and can be read as a standalone. I have not read the other books in the series…yet.
